At Research Cube, your privacy and data security are our highest priorities. Because our application is built on a "local-first" architecture, we do not operate a backend server to monitor or collect your personal research data, documents, or credentials.

2. Data Storage and API Keys

To provide cloud synchronization and AI capabilities, Research Cube requires you to input your own Application Programming Interface (API) keys (specifically for Google Drive and Google Gemini API).

  • Local Storage: These API keys, along with your session data and application preferences, are encrypted and stored strictly locally on your device.
  • No Server Transmission: We do not intercept, collect, transmit, or store your API keys, chat prompts, documents, or personal information on any developer-owned servers.

3. Third-Party Services

Research Cube communicates directly from your local environment to external services (such as Google’s servers for Drive and Gemini) using the credentials you provide. The data privacy of those interactions is governed by the respective API providers (e.g., Google’s Privacy Policy). We encourage you to review their policies regarding the data you transmit through their APIs.

4. Telemetry and Analytics

We do not use embedded third-party tracking software to monitor your app usage. Any app analytics (such as crash reports or download metrics) are strictly limited to the anonymized data provided by the default Microsoft Store telemetries, which you control via your Windows privacy settings.

5. Changes to This Policy

If we ever change our architecture or add online services that require data collection, we will update this policy and explicitly ask for your consent within the app.
